presentations at the SAACS Regional Meeting at the University of Tennessee
- Martin on April 15.
Also attending the meeting were Dr. Lyle Wescott, Analice Hosey, Sue Nguyen, Hilaire Playa, and chapter advisor Dr. Mike Condren. The keynote speaker was the 1999 ACS President Dr. Ed Wasserman from DuPont in Willimington.
Thanks to all the members who assisted in the very successful High School Chemistry Exams that were held on the CBU campus March 31 and April 14.
Congratulations to former SAACS members Linh Nguyen, '94, Ai-Van Do, '98, and Lan Nguyen, '98 for having their stories published in the new book "Voices of Vietnamese Boat People" by Dr. Mary Cargill, CBU Associate Professor of English.
Congratulations to Chapter President Hilaire Playa for being selected by the Memphis Chemical Association as the MCA Scholar for 2000. Their is a $1000 scholarship with the honor. The MCA Scholar is selected each year from one of the 4-year institutions in Memphis offering degrees in Chemistry and/or Chemical Engineering.

Members helped to pass out drinks to the runners in the 1999 Memphis Marathon.
Member Analice Hosey helped Dr. Condren present a program on modern materials to the Physical Science classes at Snowden Middle School.
Several members helped to clean up and fix up the Chemistry Resourse Room March 17 and 18.
