Lab 3 - The 24/7 Lab
Policies and Procedures
The Computer Center Help Desk normal hours of operation:
Monday – Friday 7:30am – 11:00pm
Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday 3:00 – 11:00pm
To access the new 24-hour lab the following guidelines
must be followed:
- You must have a CBU ID card to access the lab.
- When the Help Desk closes the ID locks are turned on. The Help Desk
Assistant will ask everyone to leave the Computer Center and re-enter
by swiping his/her ID card to unlock the door and register his/her presence
with our ID Card System (this MUST be done, NO exceptions).
- When the light on the swipe box is solid green the doors are unlocked.
(During Help Desk hours the doors will be unlocked.) When the light
on the swipe box is solid, amber yellow the doors are locked.
- To Enter: Swipe your CBU ID card. The light
on the swipe box will turn green. You may then open the door and
enter the building. You will then swipe your card again at the lab
door to enter the lab.
- To Exit: The motion detectors will automatically
unlock the doors so that you may exit. If, the motion detectors
fail to unlock the door, there is an exit button near each door
that will unlock and allow you to leave the lab and the building.
- All those who utilize the lab will be expected to follow the ITS
Usage Policy, which can be viewed at the following link:

- Campus Safety personnel will walk through the lab periodically to
monitor the lab and to do an ID check.
- Help Desk personnel will load paper into the printer before leaving
for the evening, however there will be no refills for the printer while
the Help Desk is closed.
- ONLY CBU students with a CBU ID card will be allowed to use the lab.
