2005 Honors Program Activities
Unless otherwise indicated,
your admission to these events is paid for by the Honors Program.
However, please bring money for drinks and snacks. And remember,
for every Honors Program event you attend you earn a chance for one of
three three-day Memphis in May Beale Street MusicFest passes. Note:
Events with limited space are on a first-come first-served basis.

BALL!
Meet in front of Barry at 6pm to head to AutoZone Park for pre-game entertainment
and a great baseball game between two teams who have each won 33 games
this season. We'll sit on the bluff, so bring a blanket (no chairs).

August 29. p.s. The first student to find Dr. Burke's picture on the Redbirds
website gets some free barbecue nachos at the game (and they ain't cheap!)!!

Honors Freshman Retreat
This year's freshmen will
travel to Narrows of the Harpeth State Park near Nashville for an
unforgettable outdoor adventure experience. They will swing through
trees, fall (safely, of course) from platforms, play challenging games,
and conquer obstacles on their way to personal growth and team development.
This is a not-to-be missed opportunity. $40 cost to students.
Meet in front of St. Benilde Hall at 2pm Friday. Return to campus
9pm-ish Saturday. Attendance is expected. RSVP to Dr.

The Art of the Motorcycle at the
Pyramid
This WONDERS exhibition
displays 100 historically significant motorcycles from the 1885 Daimler
Einspur to the 2005 Honda Rune. This exhibit set attendance records
at the Guggenheim Museum in New York where it originated. Meet in
front of Barry at 2pm or the Pyramid ticket office at 2:20. RSVP
to Dr. Burke by 3pm Thursday, Sept.

The Memphis Zoo
The
Memphis Zoo is always a favorite with CBU students. We'll see the
trainers work with the sea lions, visit the Giant Pandas, and learn about
Cat Country from the zoo staff. Meet in front of Barry at 2pm.

Murder Mystery
Night - The Tragical Mystery Tour
In
what is sure to be the silliest activity of the year, dress up and take
on the role of a suspect in a cleverly written murder mystery with a 1960's
Woodstock theme. Over dinner in the Honors classroom we'll reveal
clues about our characters that will help us discover who the real murderer

Be prepared to stay up late
and wear funny shoes because the Honors Program's going COSMIC BOWLING.

CBU Fall Play
Come
to the CBU Theatre to watch your friends and classmates
in
"God's Favorite," a modern day comedy based on the Book of Job.
"Watch
what happens when Joe Benjamin (Job) is asked to renounce
God
and how his life of luxury and health is destroyed to test his faith."
We'll
have pizza and cokes and maybe even a
short
