Unless otherwise indicated, your admission to these events is paid for by the Honors Program.  However, you may wish to bring money for drinks and snacks.     Note:Seats are sometimes limited and are on a first-RSVP first-served basis, unless that system doesn’t work, in which case I will use another one.  Before you RSVP for an event please check your schedule to be sure you can attend; cancellations are an inconvenience. Rock 'N' Soul Museum

Honors Council Hosts: Timothy Keough and Jessica McKinney Robbins
Listen to the music and learn about the legends of the blues, gospel and country music.  Created by the Smithsonian Museum the Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum tells the story of musical pioneers who, for the love of music, overcame racist and socio-economic barriers to create the music that shook the entire world. Networking 101 – an Honors Leadership activity – with the U. of Memphis Honors Program

If you’re in the Honors Program you’re a leader, and if you’re a leader you need to know how to network, how to work a room and how to charm the socks off of strangers.  This is your chance to learn how to do all of that AND put it into practice with Honors Program students from the University of Memphis.  A professional speaker will equip you with all sorts of critical information and then you’ll be set free to nosh and network with those Smarties at the other end of Central Ave.

HP Freshman Retreat
Your retreat team: Burton Bridges, Roossell Brandon, Carolyn Fly and Caitlin Woodward
This year's freshmen will travel to Victory Ranch in Bolivar, TN for an unforgettable outdoor adventure experience.  They will swing through trees, fall from platforms, play challenging games, and conquer obstacles on their way to personal growth and team development.  This is a not-to-be missed opportunity. Freshmen are expected to attend.  Cost will be approximately $45.  More information to come.

We’ll have pizza and drinks and hang out with the cast and crew after the play.
When Chris Gorman and her husband, Ken arrive at a 10 year anniversary party for the Deputy Mayor of New York, they find things are a little askew. The host of the party is injured, his wife is missing and the servants are no where to be found. Hardly an affair Chris and Ken are used to attending. As guests arrive to the party the tale of what has occurred gets a little out of hand.  You won’t want to miss this great afternoon of entertainment!!

In what is always the silliest activity of the year, dress up and take on the role of a suspect in a cleverly written murder mystery.  Over pizza (surprise, surprise) we'll reveal clues about our characters that will help us discover who the real murderer is!  RSVP to Dr. Burke by 3pm Wednesday, Oct. 10 (early RSVP necessary for character assignment). Seats are limited!  If you RSVP, be SURE you can attend.  It is very inconvenient to have last minute changes at this event.
