Travel/Study Abroad 2007-2008

Deadlines: Our 7th exciting Rome trip has been scheduled for Fall 2007, from October 12th - 20th. Students should register for RS 296 A: Selected Topics in Religion: "The Life and Teaching of Paul: Letters to the Romans" or ART 405: Special Topics in Art: The Cathedrals of Rome (Art and Architecture). Students should register for fall term classes. Register for fall classes now, and a $300 deposit will guarantee your place until April 18th. Payments may be incremental, and partial scholarships are available to qualified students. Please note that the deadline for scholarship applications is June 15, 2007.

Payment schedule:

April 18th - $300
May 9th - $400
June 28th - $600
July 31st - $600
September 13th - Balance

Note: Students who attend all three orientation sessions will receive a $50 refund at trip time.

Join our walking classroom as we experience ancient Rome, walk the land made holy by the blood of martyrs in the catacombs, retrace some of St. Paul's steps and visit his tomb. See the wonders of the Vatican and experience the masterpieces of the Sistine Chapel. Ponder the great works of Renaissance art in major churches and museums. Live and study with an international community at the world headquarters of the Christian Brothers. Pray at the heart of the Church, celebrate with Pope Benedict XVI, and reflect in the holiest sites of Christendom. Visit the beautiful little town of Assisi on a day trip, and then shop and play on the celebrated Via Veneto after dark with the "rich and famous" of the world.

Students may register for one of the following courses for fall term. Some sessions meet on CBU campus before departure for Rome.

*ART 405: Special Topics in Art: The Cathedrals of Rome (Art and Architecture) ------- 3 hrs.
*RS 296 A: Selected Topics in Religion: "The Life and Teaching of Paul: Letters to the Romans" ------- 3 hrs.


Program costs approximately $2,850 for full-time students who register for one of the classes as part of their semester load, and includes: airfare, bus to/from hotel, 8 nights, breakfast daily, 2 dinners, entrance fee to sights, English speaking guide, bus to Assisi, 7 day metro/bus pass, medical insurance, and also papal audience.

*Will satisfy study abroad requirement for global studies minor. RS 296-A will satisfy GER for 3 hrs. in Religious Studies.
