Black Wins Series, 4-0

Memphis, TN--The Black team completed the sweep in the 2001 Buccaneer World Series on Saturday. They pounded out 17 hits and scored 12 runs en route to a 12-6 victory in game 4.

Senior Zac Clements led the Black team offensively going 4-for-5 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored, including his third homerun of the series. Junior Jason Whitehead went 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs. Joey Perry, Rusty Cagle, and Hunter Crosby added two hits apiece for the Black team. The Red team was lead by third baseman Jonathan Samikkannu going 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs, including his second homerun of the series. Senior Kevin Loeffler added two hits in the loss.

Senior pitcher Jesse Boyd was credited the win for the Black team going 4 innings allowing four runs on five hits while striking out three. The win was Boyd's second of the series. Senior Steven Oelke suffered the loss for the Red team.
