The Real Work Begins
By Rori Eddie

Memphis, TN--After completing a successful and encouraging fall practice, the 2002 edition of Buccaneer Baseball begins one of the most important parts of the year, off-season conditioning and skill work.

"We accomplished a lot this fall and the team exhibited some things that can help make us competitive in the conference. I think we will have pitching depth, more team speed, improved defense, and more of a balanced hitting attack." These are things Coach Phil Goodwin stressed all fall and hopes to bring to the table when the Bucs open the 2002 season on February 12th against perennial power Cumberland University.

The 2002 season should be an exciting one and the schedule features several new opponents as well as traditional foes.
