Bucs Continue to Slide
By Rori Eddie

Memphis--It seemed like one of those nights where they made everything, and in the end it equaled a lop-sided 94-78 victory for the LeMoyne-Owen College Magicians over the visiting Christian Brothers University Buccaneers inside Bruce Hall today.

LeMoyne out-shot the Buccaneers 50-36 from the floor for the game, including a 46 percent shooting performance in the second half compared to CBU’s dismal 25 percent. To make matters worse, the Bucs could only connect on one-of-16 attempts from beyond the arc in the second half, while the Magicians lit it up from the charity stripe, netting 22-of-28 attempts for the game.

The victory pulls LeMoyne-Owen even at a 4-4 mark overall, while CBU continues to struggle with a 2-6 overall record. The Bucs are in the midst of a three-game losing streak.

Larry Boykin led all scorers with 30 points for the Magicians, as he drained 12-of-his 18 attempts from the floor while collecting five rebounds. Teammate Greate White iced 9-of-10 tries from the free throw line to finish with 21 points on the night. Chris Cosby broke double-figures in two categories, as the senior point guard dished out 12 assists to pair with his 11 points.

For the Bucs, freshman Paul Walker came out the bench to add the offensive charge in the first half with 16 points, including four from downtown. He would finish with a team-high 19 on the night.

Senior Shemon "Boo" Reaves drained 6-of-his 9 attempts from the floor to record 16 points in the contest to pair with his team-high six caroms, while teammate Adam Heitzman added 12 points. Jake Bazeley also chipped in with 10 points, including a 4-of-4 outing from the charity stripe.

CBU will return to action, Monday, December 15th, inside De La SALLE Gymnasium, as the Bucs look to avenge an early season loss to the University of Missouri at Rolla. The Bucs dropped the first meeting, 77-85. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
