Bucs Struggle On the Road
By Rori Eddie

Magnolia, AR--The rule is "Protect the home floor." Tonight, inside the W.T. Watson Athletic Center, the Southern Arkansas University men’s basketball convincingly defended the home court advantage as the Muleriders routed the visiting Christian Brothers University Buccaneers, 98-72.

Behind a 38-24 advantage on the boards and a blistering 60 percent shooting effort for the game from the field, the ‘Riders improved to a 10-3 stand on the year and 3-1 in Gulf South Conference action. Meanwhile, the Bucs struggle to find that illusive first GSC-road win, as CBU slips to 4-10 on the season and 1-4 conference play.

In a bright spot for the CBU camp, freshman Paul Walker continued his hot shooting with a 22-point night on an 8-of-12 outing. Joshua Moses would be the only other Buc to find double-figures, as the sophomore guard collected 19 points, on a 10-of-11 night from the free-throw line.

LeAndre Gipson would pace the Southern Arkansas attack with a game-high 23 points, while teammates Bryan Biley and Shawn Mason added 11 and 18 points, respectively.

In an effort to end the two-game slide, CBU travels to Searcy, Arkansas, Saturday, January 19th, to face-off against GSC opponent, Harding University at 8 p.m.
