Donna CroneSoftball Head Coach 1999-Present 5th Season (901) 321-3478 dcrone@cbu.edu Donna Crone enters her fifth season at Christian Brothers University serving as Head Softball Coach. Coach Crone is not new to CBU, graduating from the university with a B.S. in Business in 1983. As a Lady Buc alum, Crone played two seasons of basketball and two seasons of tennis earning the Most Valuable Player Award her senior year. Coach Crone earned her Master's degree in Business from the University of Memphis in 1988. With the CBU softball program entering it's 10th year of competition, the Lady Bucs have achieved many milestones under Crone. On March 15, 2000, CBU set and still owns the NCAA Div. II record for triples in one game (7). The 2001 season brought the program it's first post season honors with Megan Pilkington (Elgin, IL) being named the GSC Freshman of the Year. Under the strong pitching of Megan Sharp (SBA, Memphis), the Lady Bucs posted their best record of 20-21. The '04 season will bring Crone over 200 games as head coach. Along with her head coaching duties, Crone is also Senior Women's Administrator and the NCAA Compliance Officer for CBU. Crone's experience in softball includes 17 years of coaching women's softball (Sherry's Hallmark) in the Memphis Park Commission, winning 12 league championships, two runner-up titles in the city championships and two Memphis City Championships. Crone served as the athletic director for St. Michael Church and school for four years. Her husband Chris (CBU, '76) and children Kristen and Justin are great supporters of CBU softball.
