in 27 games, starting 22 last season for the Lady Bucs ... shot 40% from
the field and pulled down 80 boards .... Saw action in nine games in 01-02
for CBU, averaging just under a point and rebound per game ... redshirted
her first season with the Lady Buccaneers. High School:
Heather played at Hernando High School under coach Ron Triplett. While in
high school, Heather was selected as a “Best of the Preps” her senior
season. She was also selected as All-Desoto County, All-Chickasaw
Conference, All-District her junior and senior seasons. Her senior season,
Heather was selected as the team’s Best Free Throw Shooter. She was also
selected to the All-Tournament Team at the Pocahontas Tournament both her
junior and senior seasons. When I was young I wanted to be: A
doctor. Favorite Sports Movie: Rudy. Favorite Athlete:
Chamique Holdslaw/Shane Battier. I like playing for Coach Schaefer
because: He challenges you to become a better player. Every day is a
new test of toughness, and I love the challenge! Person who has
influenced my life most: My father. He showed me that life is way to
short to be taken for granted. You should take advantage of every
opportunity life gives you with your whole being, no regrets, no holding
back. Personal: Heather is the daughter of Juliann Dirks. She also
has two brothers, Jay and Clayton. Major: Natural Science.
