CBU Recognizes Top Student-Athlete
Teams
Memphis, Tenn. - The Christian Brothers University athletic
department gathered Tuesday night inside the East Lounge for an end-of-the-year
Athlete Appreciation Dinner.
During the festivities, Athletic Director Mike Daush recognized the Lady Buccaneer
tennis team for achieving the highest team GPA of all the women's sports during
the 2001-2002 academic year. Sarah Stinnett, Yolondolyn Murray, Whitney Appling,
Caroline Douid and Andi Roettger, collectively worked to a team 3.9 GPA.
The Buccaneer men's cross country team was also recognized for their outstanding
achievements inside the classroom, as Bryan Brandon, Brent Ellis, Francisco
Zurita, Ben Knoernschild, Jonathan Myers, Zach Wilkinson and Will Wright averaged
a team GPA of 3.2.
Both teams are coached by Seamus Loftus.
