Red Team Takes Annual Buccaneer
World Series
Memphis, TN - After having two last-inning
wins in the first two games of this year's annual Buccaneer
World Series, the Red team scored four runs in the first inning
of game three and shutout the White team to win the series,
two games to one.
Game one saw the Red jump on top first going up 3-0. Brian
DeJean, however powered the White team back into the game
and provided the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh
to lift the team over the Red, 5-4.
Game two saw more late-inning heroics as Jacob Virden came
up with the game-winning hit in the seventh leading the Red
over the White team, 4-3.
Singles from Wes Hoover, Graham Harrison and Leon Faison,
along with a double from Hank Pitts, led to four first-inning
runs and the Red defeated the White team in game three, 4-0.
Patton Minkin took the win in the deciding game.
Steven Thomas and Brad Koewler were the winners in games
one and two, respectively.
