Box Score

Henderson, TN –
The Christian Brothers University Buccaneer baseball team scored two runs in each of the first and fifth innings en route to a 4-3 win over Freed-Hardeman tonight.

CBU (20-28) won its fourth game in a row and hit two homers in the game.

FHU (34-22) scored two runs off of Buc starter John Raymond Hehn in the first, but with the exception of a home run in the sixth, didn't touch the ball the rest of the night.

Mark Foster started things off for CBU in the top of the first when he took a 3-1 pitch over the left field wall for his second home run of the season. Shane Hogan would score later in the inning on a sacrifice fly form Wes Hoover.

After giving up two runs in the bottom of the first, Hehn settled down the rest of the game. The Bucs scored two more runs in the fifth when Michael St. Cin homered to left center. Hogan later drove in Andrew Griffy for what proved to be the game-winning run.

Foster had two hits including a home run. St. Cin homered, while Hogan and Hoover each drove in a run. Hehn pitched all nine innings, allowing just four hits and striking out seven to earn his third win of the season.

The Bucs will finish up the season playing host to a weekend series with Southern Arkansas. They will play two games on Saturday, April 30 beginning at noon and finish up with Senior Day on Sunday, May 1 at 1 p.m.
