Box Score
Arkadelphia, AR – The Christian Brothers University
Buccaneer baseball team scored six runs in the fifth and sixth
innings and three in the ninth, but couldn't overcome an early
deficit and fell to Ouachita Baptist, 13-9.
CBU (12-23, 0-15 GSC) gave up five runs in the bottom of
the third, but answered with five of their own in the top
of the fifth.
Brian DeJean
singled down the left field line to start the fifth inning.
Wes Hoover hit
his second home run of the weekend for the inning's first
two runs. Blake
Christian singled to right center, and Shane
Hogan reached on an error. Andrew
Griffy singled through the left side loading the bases.
Mark Foster
singled to left field scoring Christian and Michael
St. Cin walked in Hogan. John
Raymond Hehn then hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield scoring
Griffy.
OBU (17-18, 4-7 GSC) used a six-run seventh to pull ahead.
The Bucs scored one run in the sixth when Griffy singled
home Hoover. They would score three in the ninth, but left
two runners on to end the game. St. Cin was hit by a pitch
to start the ninth. Hehn singled moving St. Cin to second.
Both runners moved up on a wild pitch, before DeJean drove
both of them in with a double to left center. Graham Harrison
hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield scoring DeJean, but that
would be as close as CBU would get.
DeJean went 3-5 scoring twice and driving in two, while Hoover
drove in two, scored twice and hit his second home run of
the weekend. Griffy and Christian had two hits each.
The Bucs will be back in action this week playing two non-conference
games starting with a 2 p.m. start against Freed-Hardeman
on Tuesday, April 5. They host Union at 2 p.m. on Wednesday,
April 6.
