Rhodes Defeats CBU, 9-8 In Ten

Memphis, TN – Rhodes College's Eben Cathey
singled home a run in the bottom of the 10th inning, giving
the Lynx a 9-8 win over the Christian Brothers University
Buccaneer baseball team today.
CBU (6-8) scored four runs in the first
inning to jump out to a quick lead. Rhodes answered with two
in the fourth and fifth, and three in the sixth, tying the
game at seven. CBU scored in their half of the ninth, briefly
taking the lead, before the Lynx tied it up in the bottom
of the inning.
Mark
Foster went 4-6 at the plate, scoring twice. He had a
triple, two doubles and a single. John
Raymond Hehn went 3-6 with two RBIs and two runs scored,
while Brian DeJean
went 2-5 with three RBIs and a run scored. Wes
Hoover and Blake
Christian each had two hits.
Tristan
Gore started for the Bucs and went three and a third innings
allowing two earned runs on five hits. Molly
McKesson started the tenth inning and allowed the winning
run.
CBU will be back home this Friday, March
4 playing a single, nine-inning game against Williams Baptist
at 2 p.m. They then open conference play hosting Central Arkansas.
The teams will play two games on Saturday, March 5 beginning
at noon and one on Sunday, March 6 beginning at 1 p.m.
