But Bucs Can't Pull Away Losing To Southern Arkansas, 91-88

Magnolia, AR – Despite draining four three-pointers
in the final minute of play, the Christian Brothers University
Buccaneer basketball team fell on the road tonight losing
to Southern Arkansas, 91-88.
CBU (11-8, 3-5 GSC) shot 47 percent from the field in the
first half and 44 percent in the game, but couldn't stop the
hot shooting Muleriders. The Bucs went into the locker room
with a 36-35 lead at the half.
SAU (5-14, 1-7 GSC) stopped a seven-game losing streak and
won its first game in GSC play. Cory Green led the Riders
with 21 points.
SAU jumped on the Bucs to start the second half, quickly
posting a seven-point lead. The lead was 15 with 6:26 left
in the game, but CBU chipped away and cut the deficit to eight
with a minute left.
Clint Dowdle
made three three-pointers in the final 18 seconds and Jake
Bazeley added one of his own, but a layup from SAU's Cedric
Davis was the deciding factor.
Bazeley led all scorers with 22 points and added five rebounds.
Dowdle had 18 points while Kevin
Weybright scored 17 off the bench. Lou
Wright and Jordon
Jeffries had 12 points each. Adam
Brock led the Bucs with eight rebounds.
The Bucs will come back home and play host to Central Arkansas
on Monday, January 31 at 7:30 p.m. in Canale Arena.
