Bucs Out Rebounded For First
Time; Lose To UCA, 76-58

Conway, AR – The Christian Brothers University
Buccaneer basketball team was out rebounded for the first
time this season and fell to the No. 12 ranked Central Arkansas
Bears, 76-58 in the team's Gulf South Conference opener.
CBU (7-4, 0-1 GSC) didn't score in the final three minutes
of the first half as UCA went on a 20-3 run in the final six
minutes, leading 36-24 at the half. The Bucs shot 45 percent
from the field, but were out rebounded 20-11.
UCA (11-1, 1-0 GSC) shot 45 percent from the field and 57
percent from the three-point line, making 5-9 from long range.
The Bucs went on a 6-0 run to start the second half, cutting
the lead to 36-30 and prompting a UCA timeout. The Bears ran
their lead to 12 at 67-55 with 2:49 remaining in the game
and never relinquished it.
Jordon Jeffries
had 18 points and six rebounds to lead the Bucs. Jake
Bazeley had 10 points.
The Bucs shot 48 percent from the field, but were out rebounded
44-21.
CBU will be back in action on Thursday, January 6 when they
play host to Williams Baptist at 7:00 p.m.
