Late Three Gives Central Arkansas 72-70 Overtime Win Over Bucs

Central Arkansas' Lamar Grimes hit a game-winning three pointer with 29 seconds remaining and gave the Bears a 72-70 overtime win over the Christian Brothers University Buccaneer basketball team tonight.

CBU (11-9, 3-6 GSC) was down 43-35 at the half. The Bucs shot 44 percent from the field and 89 percent from the free-throw line.

UCA (15-5, 5-4 GSC) shot 57 percent in the first half led by 13 points from Grimes.

The Bucs tied the game at 62 with 48 seconds left on two free-throws from Lou Wright. A late three from Jake Bazeley wouldn't go as the teams headed to overtime.

CBU had a three-point lead with two minutes left in overtime before a layup from UCA's Daryll Jones got the Bears to within one. A late three from Clint Dowdle would not go.

Wright led the Bucs with 15 points and six rebounds. Kevin Weybright had 14 points while Jordon Jeffries scored 13. Dowdle added 11 points and Bazeley scored nine.

CBU will travel to Ouachita Baptist on Monday, February 7 to take on the Tigers at 8 p.m.
