Clint Browne enters his second season as Head Men's Soccer
Coach at Christian Brothers University after leading the
Bucs to a 9-6-3 record last year and a No. 3 seed in the
Gulf South Conference Tournament. The 2004 Bucs finished
the season with a 5-1 record in the GSC and were ranked
30th nationally in team goals against average.
Browne previously served as the Head Men's Soccer Coach at
Lambuth University in Jackson, TN. At Lambuth, he guided the
team to a 22-13-4 record over two seasons finishing 14-4-2
last season and was ranked as high as No. 16 nationally in
the NAIA poll. The ranking was the first-ever time the soccer
program had been ranked in school history.
In his stint at Lambuth, Browne had two players named All-American
and four named Academic All-American. He was named the Mid-South
Conference Coach of the Year last season as well as the Region
Coach of the Year.
Browne served as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Memphis
from 1999-2000 helping to lead the team to it's second-most
successful season ever. He was in charge for setting and
running practices. He served as an assistant coach at CBU
under Gareth
O'Sullivan during the 1998 and 1999 seasons and was an assistant
with the Memphis Men's team during the 1995-1996 seasons.
A 1995 graduate of the University of Memphis, Browne led
the Tigers to their only NCAA Tournament appearance in 1993,
serving as a team captain that season. The team shared the
Conference Championship with Saint Louis twice during his
tenure. Browne played on two Tennessee Under-23 Olympic Development
Teams that advanced to the national finals in Washington and
New York State.
Browne played professionally for the New Orleans Riverboat
Gamblers from 1995-97 serving as team captain each year. He
also played a season in the Irish Premier League for the Sligo
Rovers in 1997-98.
A native of Birmingham, England, Browne married the former
Kemm McDonald in March of this year.

Alan Whittington

Alan Whittington begins his first season as a graduate assistant
with the Bucs after a four-year standout career as a player at
CBU.
Whittington scored 12 goals and assisted on 21 others in his career
as a forward with the Bucs. He was a two-time Second-Team All-GSC
selection. A native of Miami, Florida, Whittington played his high
school soccer at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis.
