Groninger Signs Nashville Point
Guard

University Lady Buccaneer Basketball Head Coach Scott Groninger
has announced the signing of Kathryn (Kat) Butler to a National
Letter of Intent to attend CBU beginning in fall 2005.
Butler is a 5-6 point guard from Brentwood High School in
Nashville, Tennessee. Originally from Santa Barbara, California,
Kat transferred to Nashville her senior year.
Butler was an All-Region selection this past year and was
a member of the Beech High School All-Tournament Team. She
was on the All-Tournament team during the Regional Tournament,
as well.
Butler is a standout in the classroom being named to the
Academic Honor Roll for four years. She is a member of the
Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has volunteered with
the Boys and Girls Clubs, as well as working with the Life
Network.
Groninger thinks Butler will be a great addition to the program.
"She is very smart and a crafty player," he said.
"She has great court vision and will be a good fit both
on the court and in the classroom."
Butler joins Erin Nigh and Katie Quinton whom have already
signed with the Lady Bucs.
