Lady Bucs Go Cold And Central
Arkansas Defeats CBU, 76-60 In GSC Opener

Conway, AR – The Christian Brothers University
Lady Buccaneer basketball team lost for just the second time
this season, as the Central Arkansas Sugar Bears defeated
the Lady Bucs 76-60 tonight.
CBU (8-2, 0-1 GSC) fought back from a 21-10 deficit to cut
the score to 36-29, UCA at the half. The Lady Bucs shot 35
percent from the field and 38 percent from the three point
line.
UCA (7-5, 1-0 GSC) shot 42 percent in the first half behind
12 and ten points from Caronica Randle and Carone Harris,
respectively.
UCA started the second half on a 22-13 run, as the Lady Bucs'
Jackie Moore and
Charle Moore left
the game with four fouls at the nine minute mark. The lead
was 75-60 with one minute remaining, and the Sugar Bears went
on to win their fourth game in a row.
Mary Shea Hackett
and Chereny Woodard
both had 11 points with Woodard adding five rebounds. Ashley
Smith had 10 points, while Kristen
Kirkland had eight points and ten rebounds.
UCA's Carone Harris led all scorers with 26 points and 16
rebounds.
The Lady Bucs will be back in action when they play host
to Ouachita Baptist on Monday, January 10 at 5:30 p.m.
