Maness' Three RBIs Lead Lady
Bucs Past No. 11 Alabama-Huntsville, 4-1

Decatur, AL – The Christian
Brothers University Lady Buccaneer softball team continued
its solid play as they defeated No. 11 ranked Alabama-Huntsville,
4-1 today in day three of the Gulf South Conference Crossover
Tournament.
CBU (12-22, 8-14 GSC) scored twice in the first and twice
in the fifth and Kathryn
Bomar threw the Lady Bucs' third complete-game of the
tournament.
UAH (43-12, 9-7 GSC) was held scoreless until the Lady Chargers
scored once in the bottom of the seventh.
Jenny Bernard
led off the game with a single. Paula
Cerrito sacrificed her over to second. Jennifer
Longo singled to center field scoring Bernard and Samantha
Maness doubled down the left field line scoring Longo.
The Lady Bucs had back-to-back bunt singles from Hannah
Shackelford and Longo to lead off the fifth inning. Both
runners moved up on a ground out and Maness came through again
on her birthday, singling to center field, scoring both runners.
UAH got one run in the seventh, but Bomar kept the Chargers'
bats silent for most of the day, allowing just five hits in
seven innings. She struck out one and allowed one earned run.
Maness went 2-4 with three RBIs on the day. Longo and Bomar
each had two hits, with Longo driving in a run and scoring
twice.
The Lady Bucs will be back in action tonight, as they take
on Lincoln Memorial at 7 p.m.
