Lady Bucs Drop First Two Of Conference Series With Arkansas-Monticello

- The Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneer softball team lost both games of a double-header today to Arkansas-Monticello, losing 7-4 in the first game and 11-2 in the nightcap.

CBU (6-9, 2-2 GSC) went down early in game one, trailing 6-0 after five and a half innings. The Lady Bucs scored four runs in the sixth and seventh innings, but fell short. Angela Dunn started game one and took the loss, pitching three innings, allowing just two earned runs. Jenny Bernard and Hannah Shackelford each had two hits with Shackelford driving in one and scoring once.

UAM (21-6, 2-0 GSC) was down, 2-1, to the Lady Bucs after four innings of game two, before scoring two runs in the fifth and eight in the seventh inning to take the 11-2 win. Megan Sharp pitched the first 6.2 innings, allowing just four earned runs, while striking out six.

Bernard was 3-3 with an RBI while Paula Cerrito had two hits.

The Lady Bucs will finish up the conference series with the Cotton Blossoms with a single game tomorrow, March 14 at 2 p.m.
