Box Score

Conway, AR
- The Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneer softball team have won each of their conference victories in their final at-bat and tonight was no different as the Lady Bucs defeated Central Arkansas 3-2 in nine innings.

CBU (9-13, 5-5 GSC) was scheduled to play two games tonight, but impending weather forced the two teams to move the second game to Friday as part of a double-header.

UCA (10-12, 2-5 GSC) scored one run in the first inning to take a quick 1-0 lead.

The Lady Bucs took the lead in the third inning, scoring two runs. Netia Shores started the inning reaching on an error. Paula Cerrito singled behind her and Hannah Shackelford drove in Shores with a single. Jennifer Longo then sacrificed the runners over, but UCA pitcher Darcy Kavalir threw the ball away allowing Cerrito to score.

UCA tied the game up in the fifth inning and neither team would score until the ninth.

Shores started the inning with an infield single. She stole second and moved to third when Jenny Bernard grounded to second. Shackelford then lined a single to left field scoring Shores for the go-ahead run.

Kathryn Bomar pitched all nine innings allowing just two earned runs for her seventh win of the season. Shackelford went 2-5 with two RBIs while Cerrito went 3-4 with a run scored. Samantha Maness had two hits.

Both teams will be back in action tomorrow, Friday March 25 with a double-header beginning at 11 a.m.
