TN – Christian Brothers University head
softball coach Donna Crone has announced the signing of
Michelle Paul and Kallie McFatter to national letters of
intent to attend CBU beginning in the fall of 2005.
Paul is a 5-8 catcher from Arlington, Texas where she attended
Mansfield Summit High School and played for coach Kim Reed.
She holds the school records for most career home runs and
shares the record for most home runs in a season. She also
has the most doubles in one season and the highest batting
average, when she hit .562 in 2004. She slugged .640 and
drove in 19 that season.
Paul was the 2004 District 4-5A Most Valuable Player and
a second team all-district selection her sophomore season.
She was an All-Dallas/Ft. Worth Area player as well as being
named the 2004 Summit Softball Scholar Athlete of the Year.
McFatter is a 5-3 pitcher from Mansfield, Texas where she
is a teammate of Paul's at Mansfield Summit HS. She was the
District 4-5A Pitcher of the Year in 2004 and has been all-district
since her freshman campaign. In her first three years at
Summit, she has racked up 63 wins, and has a career ERA of
0.98. She also has a career batting average of .472.
"We're really happy to have both Michelle and Kallie to
join our team," Crone said "They are the first Texas players
we've
had and softball is very strong in the area they're from.
They'll
both be immediate impact players on our team as well as in
the conference."
Paul and McFatter join Nikki Dunn (Southaven HS) and Stephanie
Taylor (FACS) whom signed with CBU in the early signing period
last semester.
