Lady Bucs Finish UAH Tournament
With 3-1 Record

Huntsville, AL — The Christian Brothers University
volleyball team finished the Alabama-Huntsville Invitational
with a win and a loss, defeating West Georgia in four games
but falling to the host Alabama-Huntsville in four games.
The 3-1 record was good for second place in the tournament.
CBU (4-3) defeated the Lady Braves by the scores of 30-25,
30-24, 25-30, and 30-20 in the day's first match. Junior
hitter Nan Kimbrell had 23
kills
and 17
digs hitting .302 in the match. Sophomore blocker Laura
Washington had 18 kills and nine blocks, while hitting .419. Junior
blocker Hattie Schnacke had 12 kills and 10 digs while sophomore
setter Lauren Amundson had 52 assists.
The Lady Bucs lost it's final match of the day to UAH by
the scores of 18-30, 23-30, 30-15, and 17-30. Kimbrell, again
led the Lady Bucs knocking home 20 kills and 10 digs, hitting
.354 for the match. Amundson had 38 assists and 11 digs,
while Washington had 11 kills and eight digs. Sophomore Krista
Gyarmati had 10 digs and nine kills, hitting .348 in the
match.
CBU will come home on Tuesday, September 14 to
take on Union University at 5 p.m. at Rhodes College. They
then travel to Lyon College on Thursday, September 16 for
a 7 p.m. match.
