Lady Bucs Win Final Two Matches

Huntsville, AL — The Christian Brothers
University Lady Buccaneer volleyball team finished the
final day of the Alabama-Huntsville tournament today with
defeats of Nova Southeastern and West Alabama.
CBU (9-4) finished 3-1 in the tournament. The Lady Bucs
won game one against NSU 30-26, but dropped the next two
by the scores of 23-30 and 28-30. The rebounded to win game
four
convincingly
30-17 and finished off the match with a 15-13 win in game
five.
NSU (2-4) fell to 1-2 in the tournament. Karla Ortiz had
a double-double for the Knights with 19 kills and 13 digs.
Nan Kimbrell had
a match-high 20 kills and added 13 digs while hitting .340
in the match in the match with NSU . Laura
Washington had 17
kills and four blocks, hitting .467. Hattie
Schnacke had
16 kills
and hit .394. Aubrey
Pancratz had a career-high 10 total
blocks while Lauren
Amundson had 46 assists and 11 digs.
Krista Gyarmati had
a match-high 14 digs and Bridget
Buckley pulled in 13 of her own.
In the Lady Bucs' second match of the day, they dropped
game one 28-30, but came back to win the next three by the
scores of 30-20, 30-27, and 30-20.
Kimbrell once again had a match-high 20 kills and 14 digs.
She hit .326. Schnacke and Washington had 13 kills each with
Schnacke adding 13 digs. Amundson had 59 assists and 14 digs,
while Buckley added 12 digs.
The Lady Bucs will be back in action this Thursday, September
15 at home hosting a tri match. CBU plays West Alabama at
3 p.m., while West Alabama and Rhodes face off at 5 p.m.
Rhodes and the Lady Bucs finish the night with a 7 p.m. match.
Each game will be played at Canale Arena.
