On Tuesday, System Navigation and the
General Person module will be covered.
Please copy and distribute Chapter 2, Using BANNER, and
Chapter 7, General
Person to the participants prior to the start of the
week. Both of these areas are critical building blocks of the Student
System and will cover how to get around in BANNER, the detailed name search
process prior to creating a person or non-person record, creating new person
and non-person records,updating existing records, and entering biographic
and demographic information. Two sessions are scheduled, Tues a.m. and
repeat Tues p.m. Divide evenly in number the participants into two groups,
one group to attend the a.m. session and the other group to attend the
p.m. session. Participants should include representatives from : all areas
that will have access to BANNER such as recruiting and admissions, records,
business office, housing. Limit 20 people per session.
8:30 - 12:00 noon System Navigation and General Person module
1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Repeat System Navigation and General Person module
4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Catalog/Schedule follow-up/Control rules and Validation forms

The Recruiting module will be covered.
Please copy and distribute Chapter 10,
Recruiting to the participants prior to the start of
the week.
Participants should include Admissions
personnel representing all admitting areas: mba, mem, xmba, med, day, evening
and athletics programs. It is recommended that records personnel also attend
since this module's information will appear on
students records in the General Student, Registration,
Academic History/CAPP
modules and on students academic transcripts.
8:30 - 12:00 noon Recruiting
module - includes records policies and
procedures discussion, review all forms information,
Control rules and
Validation forms.
1:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Continuation of the morning session. Also, creating
recruiting records and their related information, high
school/college information, appointments scheduling, BANNER recruiting
communication plans,
reports.
3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Schedule follow-up/Control rules/ Validation forms/ Faculty creation and assignment to course sections/Buildings and rooms creation and assignment to course sections.
