Conversion of Fundal’s Organizations into Banner
(Brother Kenneth Arnold)
In order to meet the deadline of June 1, 1999, the Institutional
Advancement Office (I.A.) and the Business Office (B.O.) will have to work
very closely together with Brother Kenneth Arnold to convert I.A.’s organizations
into Banner.
June 1, 1999 is a critical deadline because the Finance
System is scheduled to go live. The organizations’ names and I.D. must
be established in Banner so the Accounts Payable Department of the B.O.
will be able to add the additional vendor information.
The organizations were originally scheduled to be
converted by April 1999. However due to the FALA report and other extenuating
circumstances, the conversion was not complete. According to Brother Kenneth
Arnold, the conversion can be completed by June 1 if both I.A. and the
B.O. focus their attention on the action items listed below:
Action Items:
1. Must be completed by Wednesday, May 19, 1999:
-
The B. O. and I.A. will have to agree upon the organization
names.
-
Determine how the Non-Persons (vendor or organization)
will be assigned I.D.s: Banner generated or same ones used in Univers and
Fundal.
2. Must be completed by Friday, May 21, 1999:
-
I.A. must clean up the organization data in Fundal.
If the data is not clean, then it will not be converted into Banner.
3. Must be completed by Sunday, May 23, 1999:
-
I.T.S. will have to re-size the tables before the information
is loaded.
4. Must be completed by Monday, June 1, 1999:
-
I.T.S. will have to update CBU’s Data Entry Standards
for the decisions made regarding the naming convention and assignment of
the I.D.
ALERT: If the June
1, 1999 deadline is not met, the conversion of the Fundal data may be seriously
jeopardized, because once the organizations are entered by the B.O., the
I.A. will have to manually enter the rest of their information to prevent
duplicates.
