Alumni Comments About the Career Center

Career Center should have contacts at every major local company and should require at least semi-annual updates of job openings.

I would have appreciated attention to the field of education.  We all are not engineers and business professionals.  Serve all of CBU.

Terminix would like second year accounting students for internships (3+ hours each day).

Maybe join with bigger universities in job fairs.

Help us develop interviewing skills.

Include more liberal arts majors – job/college fairs always seemed to be geared towards engineering and business majors.

More services for working evening adult students

Offer more employment opportunities for liberal arts majors.  Invite more companies to career fairs.

A program needs to be started that prepares a graduating senior for the business world like insurance, 401K options, employee benefits – what to look for and the importance and a general understanding.

Be kind to students and help them find jobs.

Need overall improvement in helping students who are pursuing graduate studies.

Have engineering/science professors be more involved or hire someone with experience in technical fields, not just business experience.

The Career Center does a good job placing students in the business and sciences, but neglects art majors such as psychology.

Follow up – no attention/feedback was given to my interview packet.

It seemed there were always accounting listings or most business majors, but hardly anything for English, ECCM, or education.

Mock interview sessions

Help arts majors more.  It is hard for us to find employment.

Make workshops a little more hands-on with some follow-up.

Work harder for getting students jobs and career opportunities.
