Symbols of Sisterhood

AST's open motto is "Active, Self-reliant, Trustworthy,"
values we strive to uphold as sisters of Alpha Sigma Tau.

This is the colorful crest of AST!
At the top is a candle; in the middle
are a crown, a book, stars, and
an anchor; and on a scroll at the
bottom of the crest is our sorority name in Greek.

Here are the Greek letters of Alpha Sigma Tau. Sorority nicknames are
Alpha Tau, AST, and Tau.

The beautiful badge of Alpha Sigma Tau is worn by all initiated sisters.
National Staff members wear rubies in the pin points. National Council members wear emeralds in the pin points. The National President wears diamonds in the pin points.

Letters (called a guard) can be attached to the badge to display which chapter is a sister is from. Charms can also be added to represent offices held. Alumnae also add an anchor charm to the chain.

Newest sisters of Alpha Tau are
honored to wear Alpha Sigma Tau's
new member pin over the heart.

The golden letters of the mother's pin may be given to mothers
of Alpha Sigma Tau sisters.

Alpha Sigma Tau's jewel is the pearl.

Taus shine in emerald and gold!

The beautiful yellow rose is the flower of Alpha Sigma Tau.

The anchor, the national symbol of Alpha Sigma Tau, symbolizes Alpha Taus of every chapter.

Marly and Christy show off the anchor
handsign of Alpha Tau!

AST is unique because each chapter chooses its own local mascot in addition to the national symbol. Delta Chi's local mascot is the turtle.

Delta Chi's local symbol is the clover. Like the turtle, the clover is a chapter tradition dating back to the days as local sorority Gamma Phi.

The values dearly embraced by the Delta Chi Chapter are
Sisterhood, Self-development, Integrity, and Helping Others.

The yellow rose, the flower of friendship, is a fitting symbol for our sisterhood.
