Welcome Class of 2012!

I certainly hope that you are ready for a four year adventure that will not only provide you with an everlasting education, but also the leadership and social skills that will allow you to excel in your greatest adventure—Life. By choosing Christian Brothers University, you have indeed taken the first step towards success. The small, close- knit community of students makes it easy to become involved on campus and become a student leader.

Throughout high school, my student involvement and philanthropic activities resume was endless; however, once I began my freshman year at the University of Memphis, I realized the things that had once defined me were missing from my life. As a sophomore transfer student I was looking for a place where I could better myself and give something back to my community; at CBU, I found that place in Zeta Tau Alpha.

Upon joining ZTA, I found myself involved in something bigger than I had ever imagined. I was not getting three letters on a shirt, I was gaining a new lease on life. Zeta has been the single most rewarding aspect of my life: helping me understand my purpose. Within Zeta, I find myself surrounded by some of the finest women I have ever known.

I have learned the nobility of serving, by serving. Philanthropy in no longer something I do, it is part of who I am. I do not desire to be a leader, I am a leader. All of these things I have gained through my experiences in Zeta Tau Alpha.

As I begin my senior year at CBU, I will soon leave Zeta Tau Alpha as a collegiate, but look forward to joining the ranks of our amazing alumnae association. Zeta has become a way of life for me. It is something that will continue throughout my life.

I hope that as you begin your collegiate experience, you seize the opportunity that is Greek life. Most of all, I hope that you too find your purpose.
