For 130 years, Christian Brothers University has been providing outstanding academic programs to students. Our alumni find that career opportunities are numerous as graduates of CBU. Besides the superior educational experience they received while on our campus, we try to weave into the fabrics of courses and programs values and ethical principles that will help sustain them throughout their lives.

Becoming a member of the Christian Brothers University community means that one joins in an educational experience that has its roots dating all the way back to the seventeenth century, and is still thriving today in the 21st century. St. John Baptist De La Salle, the founder of the Christian Brothers, a religious order of laymen in the Catholic Church, opened his first school in Rhiems, France over 300 years ago. Care for the individual student was at the very basis of his educational philosophy. Today, at Christian Brothers University, we try to show a personal concern for each and every student, regardless of academic major, age, race, or creed. Our faculty is passionate about the art of teaching students. Our goal is student success.

THE MISSION:

Christian Brothers University is a Catholic institution of higher education in the tradition of the Christian Brothers. It is a private, comprehensive university which emphasizes excellence in teaching and individualized attention to the whole person in a values oriented, interfaith educational community. The University prepares students for professional careers, and advanced study in the arts and sciences, engineering, and business, and for lives of moral responsibility and constructive community involvement.
