Christian Brothers University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern As-sociation of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097:Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award the Bachelor's Degree and the Master's Degree. Christian Brothers University is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association and the Tennessee Association of Colleges. Most programs are approved for veterans' training.

Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

The university is approved by the State Department of Education of Tennessee as a Teacher Training Institution.
