Dr. Scott Nikaido (Religion & Philosophy) gave a series
of talks at the Idlewild Presbyterian Church entitled "The Jews,
John, and the Gospel of Thomas: Understanding the New Testament Gospels" on
April 23 and 30.
FACULTY/STAFF NEWS
• Kyle Bone has been named to the position
of assistant director of athletics for development, effective June
1. Kyle has been director of events management at CBU since 2005
and was previously marketing and promotions manager at Memphis Motorsports
Park.
• Dr. Howard Lawrence (Accounting) has been granted the title
of Professor Emeritus for the School of Business.
• Dr. Peter Limper (Religion & Philosophy)
has been granted the title of Professor Emeritus for the School of
Arts.
FACULTY/STAFF SOCIAL GATHERING
The final Faculty/Staff Social of the semester will be held Wednesday,
May 10, in conjunction with the Senior Picnic in Boshwit Courtyard,
following Commencement Rehearsal (approximately 6:00 p.m.). Come join

SUMMER WORK-STUDY POSITIONS
Graduate Engineering is looking for students
who are interested in summer work-study. Students are needed for the new online MSEM
program to record and edit classes. Training will be provided on
the operation of video/computer equipment and procedures. Hours
are flexible and can be arranged around any other job you
might have this summer. This is a vital, new program and LOTS of
students are needed to help out. The stipend is $600. For more

Students: Stop by the CBU Bookstore and get

the Bookstore's clothing sale. Hours are 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., Monday-Tuesday;
8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m., Wednesday-Thursday; and 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.,
Friday.
HOUSING FOR RETURNING STUDENTS
Returning students should stop by the Division
of Student Life for information as soon as possible regarding housing
for the 2006-2007 school year. Freshmen will be assigned rooms soon. Come in now
to avoid being placed on the waiting list for housing. Price lists
and contracts can be picked up from the office, located on the
first floor of the Thomas Center.
LIBRARY STUDY AND EXAM HOURS
Plough Library will be open on the following schedule for the remainder
of the semester:
• Monday, May 8: 7:45 a.m. - midnight
• Tuesday-Friday, May 9-12: 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Saturday-Sunday, May 13-14: CLOSED
ART EXHIBITION
"Seen & Unseen: Art for the Blind and Sighted" by Guy
Cobb will be on exhibition through May 12 in the Beverly & Sam
Ross Gallery (lower level of Plough Library).
FINANCIAL LITERACY SEMINARS
A free seminar on "Smart Women Finish Rich" will
be offered on Thursday, May 18, as part of the ongoing series of eight
seminars covering various aspects of personal financial fitness presented
by CBU in partnership with MPACT Memphis and the Financial Planning
Association. Seminars are being conducted by CBU School of Business
faculty and the Financial Planning Association and will be held on
the third Thursday of each month in Buckman Hall, 6:00-7:30 p.m. The
remaining topics are: Building Wealth, June 15; Investment
Basics, July 20; Buying a
Home, August 17; Insurance, September 21; Retirement,
October 19; and
Estate Planning, November 16. All seminars are free,

The CBU Connection will appear monthly
during the summer. It will
