Elisa Marus CBU Honors Scifert as the 2006 Graduate Engineering Alumnus
(Memphis)-- Christine N. Scifert is the recipient of the 2006 R. Craig Blackman Outstanding Graduate Engineering Alumni Award.
After serving two years as a biomechanist with Biomechanics Research & Consulting, Inc. in El Segundo, California, Scifert moved to Memphis in 2000 to assume the position, quality and regulatory affairs associate, with Medtronic Sofamor Danek USA, Inc.
In 2001, Scifert was promoted and currently serves as both the group director and supervisor of regulatory affairs for Medtronic Sofamor Danek. She manages a team of 22 people that is responsible for domestic and international submissions to gain product registrations. Scifert received a Master of Engineering Management from Christian Brothers University, Memphis, TN (2004); a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA (1998); and a Bachelor of Science with a major in Physics and minors in Math and Biology from Hamline University, St. Paul, Minnesota (1996). Scifert is a native of Fridley, Minnesota. She currently lives in Bartlett with her husband, Dr. Christopher Scifert, and two children, Colin and Cailey. In her spare time, she enjoys playing in local USTA tennis leagues.
