Elisa Marus CBU Gallery to Feature “Painted Portraits” by Murray Riss
(Memphis)—The Beverly & Sam Ross Gallery at Christian Brothers University is proud to exhibit, “Painted Portraits,” by renowned photographer Murray Riss, March 16 – May 12, 2007. An opening reception will be held on Friday, March 16 in the gallery on the lower level of Plough Memorial Library, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Riss was educated at City College of New York (B.A.), Cooper Union School of Art, and the Rhode Island School of Design (M.F.A.). He established the photography department at the Memphis College of Art and taught there from 1968 to 1986. He was an adjunct lecturer in photography and film at Rhodes College from 1971 to 1986. Currently he is a professional photographer for magazines, advertising agencies, and corporations with clients locally, nationally, and internationally.
Hours at the Beverly & Sam Ross Gallery are Monday-Thursday, 7:45 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.; Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.; and Sunday, 2:00-11:00 p.m. Hours may vary due to university schedules.
