Guidelines
For News Media
1. Access
to the CBU Campus
Christian Brothers University requires that all news media contact the
Director of Communications and Marketing before coming onto campus for
a story. When journalists are expected on the campus, the communications
office will also advise the CBU campus safety office in order to provide
for the most convenient parking spot available and offer any additional
needed support for visiting journalists.
CBU wants to ensure privacy for our students but when student interviews
and video are requested and appropriate, the communications office will
be glad to help identify students willing to be interviewed. On most
stories, media access will be granted.
2. Limited Access Areas
CBU University residence halls and student apartments are not open to
the media unless accompanied by a communications office staff member.
3. Covering Campus Events
CBU presents or hosts numerous programs and events throughout the academic
year. For any event where a news release has been issued, there is no
need to contact the communications office prior to covering the event.
Campus events are posted on the University website at www.cbu.edu/events.
Videotaping, filming, photography at CBU
Commercial businesses, agencies and organizations may request filming,
video or photo projects at Christian Brothers University. The agreement
posted here is required.
