Food and Clothing Drive BLITZ! Wed. November 6th

  SGA volunteers went door to door in the dorms at CBU (above).

Current Events

Dismis House  (Every 4th Sunday evening of the month)

Dismis House is an organization that provides living quarters for reintegrated inmates.

Jiexin and Jeff prepare food for the meal.

Fr. Art shares with Jiexin his chili recipe.

Volunteers are needed for January.  Volunteers prepare the meal and the eat the meal with the residents.

Holy Names Catholic School (De LaSalle inner-city school)

Volunteers are needed for:

Reading to students in the afternoon: 1-3 pm

Tutor children in the after school programs 3-5:30 pm.

One on one math, writing, and reading, with students - anytime

Lead children's prayer service 8:30 - 9:00 am on M, T, Th, F.

Volunteers to teach piano lessons, guitar lessons

Volunteers to coach athletic teams - soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball - after school

 

De La Salle Elementary (Catholic Jubilee School in the Tradition of the Christian Brothers)

Volunteers arte needed for:

Snack time and recess with Kindergarten     Monday-Friday  10:15-11:00 am.

Reading with individual students                   Monday-Friday  11:00-11:45 am.

Lunch with the children                                Monday-Friday  11:45 -12:30 pm.

Reading with 1st graders                              Monday-Friday  12:30 - 1:15 pm.

Reading with 2nd graders                              Monday-Friday  1:30 - 2:15 pm..                   

Extended care (help with homework and recreation.)    Monday-Friday  3:30 - 5:30 pm.

Adult English classes                                    Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

Literacy Programs                                        Saturday    10:00am - noon

Additional opportunities at your convenience including:  gardening, building upgrades, and technology assistance.

 

Hope House of Memphis (Daycare center for children affected/effected with HIV/AIDS)

Hope House needs volunteers for various activities with children.  Times are 7:00 am - 6:00 pm  Mon.-Fri.

 

Perea Preschool

They need volunteers to read, play, and interact with children.  Times are 7:30 am - 3:00 pm Mon-Fri.

 

Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. (Tutorial Ministries)

Tutoring children of all ages in all subjects.    Times are Mon. 7:00 pm-8:15 pm, Tues. 4:30 pm -5:45 pm and 7:00 pm-8:15 pm,

    Wed. 5:45 pm - 7:15 pm, Thurs. 4:30 pm - 5:45 pm, 5:00 pm  - 6:15 pm, and 5:30 pm - 6:45 pm.
