If you plan to pursue a career in the accounting profession, either in public accounting or in a corporate setting, the Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree is for you. Your major coursework is designed to prepare you for the Uniform CPA Examination (valid in all states) and for possible business education at the graduate level.
Your classes will focus on financial accounting, managerial accounting, cost accounting, taxation, governmental accounting and auditing. You can also choose to take elective accounting courses, including International Financial Reporting Standards, Fraud Examination and Forensic Accounting.
We encouraged you to complete an internship in your junior or senior year, which often leads to full-time employment after graduation.
The accounting faculty at CBU provide a blend of extensive academic preparation and real-world experience. Our small class sizes (classes are capped at 24 students) allow interaction between students and faculty.
The mission of the accounting degree at CBU is to endow students with the knowledge, analytic capability, critical thinking, leadership skills, and the ethical basis essential to successful and responsible business careers in a rapidly changing and technologically driven global business enterprise.
