Education Degree
The Department of Education is one of the oldest programs at CBU and reflects our long history of teaching excellence. The Department fully embraces the Lassalian Tradition and emphasizes personal relationships, academic excellence, faith formation, inclusion, respect for the individual, service and social justice.
If you’re looking to earn your degree in education, contact CBU today. CBU is approved by the State Department of Education of Tennessee as a Teacher Training Institution. CBU is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association and the Tennessee Association of Colleges. Most programs are approved for veterans' training. Most recently, CBU was accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). NCATE-accredited schools must meet rigorous standards set by the profession and members of the public. Candidates must be prepared to understand and work with diverse student populations. The University must model effective teaching practices and must have the resources, such as information technology, necessary to prepare candidates to meet new standards.
