How to Transfer Schools

Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee, is uniquely committed to personal development of all students, especially transfer students.

You may not like the program, you’ve decided to change majors or you may be going back to school after starting a career. The reason you're transferring isn't important. We make it our business to help students at whatever point in their educational career that they choose to attend CBU. If you are in good standing at the college you attended last, we welcome your application.

Requirements

You’re probably asking yourself, “Will my credits transfer?” Each case is considered individually. CBU requires that transfer students submit an official transcript from every prior college or university. College-level credits earned at other colleges or universities will be accepted if the credits meet CBU's transfer criteria. In general, the institution granting the credit must be regionally accredited and the student must have earned a grade of "C" or better in the course. A transfer credit analysis is normally done after a transfer student has been accepted for admission.

Transfer Agreements

CBU has established transfer agreements with some local community colleges, including Midsouth Community College, Northwest Mississippi Community College and Southwest Tennessee Community College. Students at these community colleges who plan to transfer to CBU after completion of their programs can be confident that certain transfer credits will be accepted by CBU. We also participate in the TN Transfer Pathway program.
