Kappa Delta Pi
Commencement is the time of year when the Kappa Delta Pi, an education
honor society, typically invites new members to join whether as
continuing students or as prospective alumni/ae of CBU's education
programs. We seek active members of Kappa Delta Pi, both continuing
students and alumni/ae.
The chapter at CBU is the Omega Omega chapter. Last year's chapter
counselor was Ms. Kristin McGraner, but she is now heavily involved
in her doctoral program at Vanderbilt. Dr. Ellen Faith has agreed
to step in as chapter counselor for the current and coming years
and to organize an initiation around the May 2006 CBU Commencement.
Honor cords for previously initiated members of Kappa Delta Pi
are now available for sale in the Department of Education office
at a cost of $10 per honor cord. Checks should be made out to Omega
Omega Chapter.
An orientation for prospective new members will be held on Monday,
May 8, at 7 pm, in Kenrick.
The initiation itself will be held on Wednesday, May 10, at 8 pm.
Further details on the room and setting will be available by Tuesday,
May 2. At this point, please feel free to inform family members
and other guests about the date and time of the initiation itself.
The application process will begin formally on Monday, May 1. There
are grade point criteria that must be met: 3.0 for undergraduates
and 3.5 for graduate students. Applications will be available at
that point. If you are interested in initiation and meet the criteria,
please come by the Department of Education to complete the form
and leave your check.
The cost associated with initiation is $75, including chapter dues,
national dues, initiation fee, and support for the cost of the event
itself, meaning refreshments for you and your guests. |
