Teri Mason has an M.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh, and is completing her Ph.D. in Sociology from Southern Illinois University. Her areas of interest are: medical anthropology, global economic issues, Chinese society and Elvis fans. She is the faculty advisor for the student Intercultural Club, and participates in a summer program in international student research with CBU's Biology department. A grant funds student participation in research in Brazil and Uganda currently, and recent projects have included laboratory research in Florianopolis or São Paulo, species preservation in a Brazilian wildlife sanctuary, and studies of health care needs, health funding and mosquito net education in rural Uganda.
