Graduate Programs in the School
of Arts
Christian Brothers University will offer
a Master of Arts in Catholic Studies (MACS) beginning
in August, 2006. This 30-hour graduate degree program will include
traditional classes held one day a month for six hours with each
course lasting sixteen weeks. Courses will be additionally supported
with significant on-line components. The program will be offered
in cohort fashion with a group of students beginning and moving

The Master of Arts in Executive
Leadership (MAEL) targets the executive or rising executive
in all styles of organizations and businesses to include for-profit,
non-profit, civic, education, religious, and government. The MAEL
at Christian Brothers University has been specifically organized
for individuals who have business, professional, or administrative

The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.)
degree is available in three concentrations, linked to initial teching
licensure in elementary, middle grades, or secondary education.
For secondary education, CBU is approved to offer licensure programs
in biology, chemistry, English, French, history, mathematics, physics,
and Spanish. CBU is also planning to add a concentration in special

The Master of Education (M.Ed.)
degree, usually used for advanced professional development, is available
in two tracks: teacher-leadership and curriculum and instruction.
The M.Ed. can also be tailored to around a second endorsement in
a desired area: elementary education, middle school education, and
