Minors in English
A minor in English consists of 21 hours of courses, including ENG
221-222 and 15 hours of upper-level courses. In special cases, ENG
211-212 may be substituted for ENG 221-222 with the approval of
the Department Chair of Literature and Languages. Minors may be
obtained in the following groupings:
English Minor--American Studies emphasis
Choice
of ENG 331, 332, 341, 342, 343, 351, 352, 354, 361, 362, 450. English
Minor--British Studies emphasis: choice of ENG 221, 222, 339, 340,
432, 440, 441, 442, 443, 444, 445, 446, 447. Minors with other emphases
may be constructed in consultation with an English advisor.
Minor in Foreign Language
A
minor in French or Spanish requires 12 credit hours above the 202
level in one language. A student whose mother tongue is a foreign
language may obtain a minor in his/her own language by earning 18
semester hours in courses above the 302 level. Completion of a minor
in foreign languages may depend upon sufficient student demand.
