| Admission to the MBA Program
Admission Requirements The MBA at Christian Brothers University has been specifically organized for individuals who have business, professional, or administrative experience. Applicants are considered for admission on the basis of their letters of recommendations, their GMAT score, and their undergraduate grade point average. Applicants must submit the following documents to be considered for admission: One official transcript of previous academic credits from each college or university previously attended 2 letters of recommendation An official report of the GMAT® or GRE ® score A completed MBA application form A $50 application fee Foreign applicants must submit results of TOEFL® if English is not their native language or was not the language of instruction for their baccalaureate degree. A minimum score of 600 on the TOEFL®is required. Students may register to take the TOEFL at www.ets.org. Cost for the TOEFL® is $150. In addition, the student will be required to provide evidence of proficiency in the English language and a certificate of eligibility for non immigrant (F1) student status. I20 forms, when required, will be issued through the Office of Vice President for Student Affairs (kconway@cbu.edu). Once all the above have been received, the student's file will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Students will be notified as to the status of their application as soon as the admissions committee makes their decision. The GMAT®/GRE®: The Graduate Management Admission Test® (GMAT®) or the Graduate Record Exam® (GRE®), is required for admission. Prospective students can call the location to set up an appointment to take the exam. The GRE ® is administered by Educational Testing Services (ETS). Classification of Students: Degree Student: A degree student is one who has been admitted to a graduate program. Non–Degree: A person from the community who wishes to take selected courses on a noncredit basis without going through the admission process. This type of student is limited to six hours and is not eligible for financial assistance. Visiting Student: A graduate student from another college or university who is allowed to take courses at CBU for transfer to his/her institution. A letter from the visitor's university certifying that the student is in good standing is required. Prerequisites: Applicants to the Master of Business Administration program must demonstrate competencies in applicable business prerequisite areas. Transfer Credit: A maximum of 9 semester hours of graduate level transfer credit may be allowed. Courses taken for transfer credit after being admitted to the program must be approved in advance by the MBA Director. A student may transfer credits earned at another accredited college or university only if: the student is a degree student. the courses to be transferred are graduate courses appropriate to the Christian Brothers University graduate program. prior courses were completed within the five years before admission to the Christian Brothers University graduate program. grades of 'B' (3.0 on a scale of 4.0)or better were achieved. the transfer is recommended by the Graduate Program Director Academics · Alumni · News · Studentlife · Athletics · Lasallian |
