CBU Commencement Scheduled for Friday, May 15

Christian Brothers University (CBU) will hold its 2009 Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 15, 4:00 p.m. at the Desoto Civic Center.

More than 400 undergraduate and graduate students will receive degrees from CBU this year, as the University grants the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, Bachelor of Science in Science and Mathematics, Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Education, Master of Science in Educational Leadership, Master of Business Administration, Master of Engineering Management, Master of Science in Engineering Management, and Master of Arts in Executive Leadership.

The CBU Baccalaureate Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, May 14, at 7:00 p.m. in the University Theater on the CBU campus.

During the Baccalaureate Service, the University will recognize Robert "Felix" Bishop, CBU class of 1982, as the 2009 recipient of the Lasallian Distinguished Service Award. The recipient of this award, who is selected by the Office of Student Life, is a distinguished alumna / alumnus for their positive contributions of furthering the Lasallian mission through significant contributions of time, talent and service to the University and the community.  

Bishop is a Vice-President with Crye-Leike, Inc.; REALTORS and a member of the Crye-Leike Circle of Excellence and the Multi-Million Dollar Club.  Bishop serves as a member of the CBU Alumni Board of Advisors for Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE). Additionally, he has served on the Board of Directors for United Cerebral Palsy and Volunteer Memphis.

A President’s Reception will follow the Baccalaureate Prayer Service in the Boshwit Courtyard.
