Become a "Bone Detective" at CBU

Christian Brothers University (CBU) will host a forensic anthropology workshop for high school juniors and seniors that will demonstrate the deeper story that bones tell. This workshop will be held Wednesday, February 25 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Cooper-Wilson Center for Life Sciences, Room 105.

Dead men can tell more tales than most people realize. Forensic anthropologists use skeletal remains to aid in homicide investigations. These "Bone Detectives" analyze human skeletons to estimate factors such as age, sex, ancestry, stature, disease, and cause of death.

During this workshop, students will be introduced to the methods used in skeletal identification. Students will get a glimpse of what it means to be a "Bone Detective" and how bones can help us address questions about how people lived…and died. The workshop is interactive and students will handle skeletal material both human and animal.
